Varigate Technologies Inc. is seeking a Product Development Engineer
Location: Calgary, AB, Canada
Varigate Technologies Inc. is an industrial seal and carbide manufacturer and distributor focussing on operations within North America. VTI currently operates 2 divisions, VTI Seal and VTI Carbide. VTI is a fast growing, customer centric organization looking for that experienced leader to design, identify and work closely with the sales team and customer base to design industry leading products and materials.
The Product Development Engineer will be responsible for many roles including but not limited to the development of VTI custom compounds, seal development and support from concept to production, testing and QC Management.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Developing, testing, managing the VTI Compound library
- Assessing our current offerings, and identifying opportunities and challenges
- Attending conferences, industry events and to be the face of VTI’s technical support
- Providing leadership and guidance in regard to product line development
- Designing and implementation of the VTI Lab
- Maintaining accurate customer records as prescribed by the Company.
- Assisting Sales with technical presentations and support
- Contribute Monthly to our Social Media program via articles, blog, etc.
- Provides the company with regular status reports on development successes and challenges
- Develop and manage a support team as business levels demand
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- University Degree (materials Engineer, or some other field appropriate), Masters/PHD a benefit
- 5 years (minimum) experience in working with Elastomers, Thermoplastics, testing or development
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of O&G, Mining, Agriculture, Food and Beverage industries is a plus
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work flexible working hours
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
